Our Story
As a dog lover and an advocate for personalized care, I noticed a gap in the world of pet services. While there were countless platforms for pet care, none catered specifically to the needs of curly, wiry or wavy - haired dogs—dogs whose coats require special attention, breaks during grooming, lots of patience and offering free basic grooming during day care or boarding . Thus, Block Yellow was born.
-
Curly-haired dogs, from Poodles to Portuguese Water Dogs and everything in between, are more than just beautiful. These dogs face more stress and pressure from basic groomers. We envision a world where every curly-haired pup struts with confidence, flaunting their unique curls and glorious coats. Their coats are a testament to their uniqueness but also require patience and a-lot of time. As someone who has curly hair and spent years caring for these special pups, I wanted to create a platform that not only meets their needs but also celebrates their individuality and treat them like humans. These dogs face more stress and pressure from basic groomers. We envision a world where every curly-haired pup struts with confidence, flaunting their unique curls and glorious coats.

Shelters are always in need of kind-hearted volunteers to:
Take dogs out for walks to stretch their legs and brighten their day.
Spend time with them for a day or a weekend to give them a break from the shelter environment.
Drive them to adoption events or vet appointments to help them on their journey to finding a home.
If you’re able to open your heart even further, consider:
Fostering a dog—this provides them with a loving, temporary home and helps them adjust to life outside the shelter.
Donating supplies, food, or funds to keep shelters running and dogs cared for.
We’re calling on you, our amazing community, to lend a helping paw to your local animal shelters!
-
Why not make a paws-itively fantastic choice this month? Instead of treating yourself to that extra Netflix binge or a Starbucks beverage, consider redirecting that cash to a local animal shelter!
With just the price of a few lattes or a month’s worth of streaming, you can make a significant impact in the lives of furry friends in need. Think of it as a subscription service for kindness—your donation can provide food, medical care, and love to dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes.

If you witness someone mistreating a dog, it’s crucial to act immediately. Here’s what to do:
Speak Up: Approach the situation calmly and assertively. If you feel safe, let the person know that their behavior is inappropriate and that dogs deserve better treatment. Sometimes, a simple "Hey, that’s not okay!" can make a difference.
Document: If the situation escalates or continues, take notes or record details about what you see. This information will be valuable later.
Call the Authorities: If you believe the dog's safety is at risk, don’t hesitate to call animal control or the police. Provide them with the details you’ve documented. Your timely report can save a life.
Offer Help: If it feels appropriate, you might also consider reaching out to local animal welfare organizations. They can provide additional resources and take action if necessary.
Remember, speaking up for those who can’t speak for themselves is vital. Your voice can make a big difference in a dog’s life!
