Dear Pet Parents,
At Block Yellow, your fur baby’s safety and happiness are at the heart of everything we do. We want every grooming session to be a comfortable and enjoyable experience for your dog. That said, grooming sometimes uncovers hidden health issues or may aggravate existing ones, so we want to be upfront about how we handle such situations.
Caring for Your Pet in Emergencies
In the rare event that your fur baby needs immediate veterinary attention during or after their grooming session, we kindly ask for your permission to seek treatment on their behalf. Of course, any costs for veterinary care will remain your responsibility, but rest assured we will prioritize your pet’s well-being above all else.
About Our Bath & Groom Pricing
Our prices are a guide, but the final cost depends on your dog’s coat length, condition, size, and any special needs. For anxious or cheeky pups, we recommend a complimentary Meet & Greet before their first grooming session. This lets us get to know your fur baby and helps them feel more comfortable in our salon.
Be Patient with Us (and Your Dog)
We take our time to ensure every dog feels safe and calm. For curly-coated breeds or pups needing extra TLC, our one-dog-at-a-time approach minimizes stress. Grooming is not a rush job, and we’ll keep you updated with real-time photos so you know how your fur baby is doing.
Gentle Handling, No Force
If your dog needs breaks during grooming, we happily oblige. We’ll never force your pouchy to sit through something they’re not ready for. If a muzzle is required for safety, we use it as a last resort and only when absolutely necessary. In extreme cases where grooming cannot proceed safely, we may need to stop the session and charge a service fee.
Grooming Mishaps and Health Considerations
Our tools are sharp, and while we’re extremely careful, minor accidents like nicks or scratches can happen. If anything occurs, we’ll let you know immediately and, if needed, seek veterinary care. Sometimes, grooming can reveal or worsen hidden medical problems, and these will also require veterinary attention at your expense.
Severely Matted Coats
If your fur baby’s coat is severely matted, we may need to shave it off for their comfort and health. Mats can be painful, trap moisture, and cause skin issues. Shaving a matted coat can occasionally result in redness, itchiness, or other skin sensitivities, and hair regrowth may take time. Regular grooming every 4-6 weeks is the best way to prevent matting.
If your dog repeatedly arrives with severe matting, we may need to decline further services until regular care is established. We’re happy to guide you on how to maintain a tangle-free coat at home.
Keeping Grooming Stress-Free
Our goal is to make Block Yellow a happy place for your fur baby. We always prioritize their comfort and safety over specific style requests. If that’s not okay with you, we understand, but this may not be the right fit.
We’re here to make grooming a positive experience for your dog—and a reassuring one for you. Thank you for trusting us with your fur baby!
Warm regards,
The Block Yellow Team.
